Skrillex helps put dubstep on the map at this year's Grammys
Over the past couple of years this young lad has been helping put dubstep on the map in the USA. It was at this years Grammys that he proved the weird and wonderful sounds of electronic music can do itself justice and pick up three awards.
Skrillex collected a memorable three award for his efforts this year at the Grammys for Best Remix Non Classical for the song Cinema (Skrillex Remix), Best Dance Electronica Album for Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites and Best Dance Recording for the title track.
Skrillex commented " this is really crazy for me man " on collecting his first award added " I made this song in my bedroom whilst i was living in a warehouse in downtown LA " For those that missed the award it was funny to see Skrillex whip out his iphone to read out a long list of thank you's before trotting back in to the audience only to return and collect a further two more awards in the Ceremony.
On collecting his third award Skrillex screamed " STOP " grinning he commented " this is the most surreal day of life "
The 24 year old pointed out that his dream was only made possible via the internet and the notion " of being able to do what we want and putting it out for free "
Well this young man is now a sought after property or shall we say entertainer and with industry sources quote bookings in excess of $100,000 dollars a night one can only work out the maths involved after playing close to 150 gigs in 2011.
Looks like no more illegal living for Skrillex and a lots nice condos to come, with electronica music breaking sound barriers and Skrillex adding his name to the club watch this space for a Skrillex hit soon !!!
